Richmond United U17s qualify for Winter Cup - Draw MLS opponents - Selected as Featured Game at 2019 Development Academy Winter Showcase
Richmond United U17s have qualified for the inaugural US Soccer Development Academy Winter Cup from December 5 to 8 in Bradenton, Florida. Winter Cup is a Cup tournament of the 32 top DA Academies with 8 groups of 4 teams competing in a Champions League Type Group Stage. Only the top team in each group advances to Spring Cup, an eight-team knockout bracket at a single location to crown the DA Cup Champion.
With a 5-1-0 record, Richmond United was able to win the qualifying group against VDA, PA Classics and FC Delco. Richmond United has been drawn into Winter Cup Group F facing three MLS Academies, LA Galaxy, Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders.
